That’s because today we’re sharing some incredible Summer flight deals you can still get from the New York City metro area. You can head cross country for just $150 round trip and even head overseas for under $350 round trip.
There’s a real diversity of destinations you can reach for a cheap price and our list is by no means exhaustive. So, you can have your pick between big cities, beach getaways and mountain retreats. While plenty of these deals are super cheap, the catch is that many of them are on basic economy. To take full advantage of them, you would have little flexibility and a limited baggage allowance, unless you’re okay with paying extra.
Regardless, here are 20 of the best Summer flight deals from the New York City area this Summer in no particular order:
NYC Summer Flight Deals – 1. Oslo, Norway
Round trip flights start at $321 on Norse Atlantic Airways from JFK to Norway’s capital, Oslo. Being able to travel to Europe and back for under $350 is almost unheard of. So, make sure to take advantage of this one while you can. In Oslo, you can visit the Viking Ship Museum, check out the Royal Palace and stroll at Frognerparken. While Oslo could be the first stop on a bigger Europe trip, Norway is a country with plenty of natural wonders that are worth exploring.
2. Toronto
Here’s another international destination that’s closer to home this time. Canadian low cost carrier Flair Airlines is offering round trip flights from JFK to Toronto starting at $129. Summer is the perfect time to go to Toronto, with plenty of festivals and places to relax on Lake Ontario. See iconic views of Toronto’s skyline from Ward Island and check out the Art Gallery of Ontario on particularly hot days.
3. San Juan, Puerto Rico
While not an international destination, brush up on your Spanish before you head to San Juan, Puerto Rico. On Frontier, you can snag flights from JFK to San Juan for as little as $153 round trip. Also, flights from Newark to San Juan on Frontier start at $159. With a historic old town, forts, beaches and trendy neighborhoods, San Juan has a lot to offer tourists. You can also sample Puerto Rico’s excellent cuisine.
NYC Summer Flight Deals – 4. Los Angeles
Plenty has been said about Los Angeles and it’s obviously one of the most iconic US cities. This Summer, you can go cross country from EWR to LAX for as little as $160 round trip on Spirit Airlines. That’s an unbeatable deal and LA could be the first stop on a Pacific Coast Highway road trip.
5. Barcelona
This one seems almost too good to be true. However, you can snag round trip flights to Barcelona in late Summer on LEVEL, by Iberia, from JFK starting at just $316. Barcelona is one of Europe’s most visited cities for good reason.
Make sure to check out Gaudi’s famous unfinished church, La Sagrada Familia. Also head to Gaudi’s Casa Batllo and the Salvador Dali Theater Museum. Park Güell and La Boqueria Market are two other must see places. If you want to extend your trip, Spain has fast and reliable trains. In addition, Barcelona has cheap flights to many European and North African destinations.
6. Bozeman, Montana
You can head out to Montana for as little as $197 round trip from EWR on United and $198 round trip on JetBlue from JFK. Bozeman is a gateway to Yellowstone National Park, which is under two hours away. Then, you could continue your trip down to the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole. You could also head straight up from Bozeman to the beautiful Glacier National Park on the Canadian border.

This Summer you can fly to Ireland and back for as low as $352 from Newark on United. In Dublin, you can visit the Guinness Storehouse, Trinity College and Phoenix Park. You can also experience Ireland’s famous pub culture. Then, you could explore Ireland’s beautiful West Coast by car and see sights like the Ring of Kerry and Cliffs of Moher.
8. Aruba
You can find good flight and hotel deals to the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba during the Summer. From EWR and JFK, on United and JetBlue respectively, round trip flights start at just $281. Because the Summer is shoulder season, there won’t be as many crowds on the beaches as there are in Winter. 9. Miami (Fort Lauderdale)
The cheapest Summer flight deals from the New York Metro area to the Miami area this Summer are from Westchester County Airport (HPN). HPN is 30 miles north of New York City and you can snag $97 round trip flights from there to Fort Lauderdale on JetBlue. So, you could either spend time in Florida or use Miami as a gateway to South American destinations like Brazil, while are expensive and hard to get to from New York.
For example, the cheapest one stop flights from NYC to Brazil are $560 on Avianca and take 13 hours. Meanwhile, you can catch round trip flights from Miami to Belem, Brazil for under $300.
NYC Summer Flight Deals – 10. Nashville
Summer flights to Nashville, at their cheapest, only run for $97 from LGA on American and JFK on JetBlue. Getting Nashville hot chicken is a must and Prince’s and Hattie B’s are two of the most popular spots. Country music fans can also visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and legendary Grand Ole Opry. The nightlife is centered around honky tonk bars on Lower Broadway, so hearing live music is a must. Other things to do include heading to Bicentennial Park, the Nashville Farmer’s Market and the full scale replica of the Parthenon.
11. Charleston

Costa Rica was one of our five cheap international destinations to visit during the Spring. You can still find great deals to San Jose during the Summer. In fact, there are $257 nonstop roundtrip flights on JetBlue from JFK. Once you land, you may want to get out of the city and explore Costa Rica’s beautiful natural areas. 14. Chicago
Chicago is a place that is near and dear to my heart and it’s a quick flight from the NYC area. Summer is also a great time to go, with festivals like Lollapalooza, the Chicago Jazz Festival and Taste of Chicago. This Summer you can fly to Chicago for $97 from LGA to Chicago Midway on Southwest or LGA to Chicago O’Hare on United. If JFK is your home airport you can get the same price to O’Hare on JetBlue. 15. Bonaire
You’d be more than forgiven for not knowing what/where Bonaire is. The small Dutch Caribbean island is off the coast of Venezuela, east of Curacao. It appears to be a very beautiful place, with plenty of outdoor activities to indulge in. There are plenty of reefs teeming with marine life that are good diving spots. There’s also hiking in Washington Slagbaai National Park and plenty of secluded beaches. NYC Summer Flight Deals – 16. Berlin
Starting at $340 roundtrip, from JFK on Norse Atlantic, you can fly direct to Berlin. Berlin is a fantastic city but contains stark reminders of its past. Famous monuments include Brandenburg Gate, the remnants of the Berlin Wall at East Side Gallery and the Memorial of the Murdered Jews of Europe.
Doner Kebab is one of the most iconic foods in the city and there’s plenty of other incredible Middle Eastern food to try. 18. Seattle
The Summer is a great time to be in Seattle. The rain gives way to Sunny days and mild temperatures and lets you fully appreciate what the city has to offer. With $216 round trip flights from Newark, on Alaska Airlines, and $217 flights from JFK on Delta and JetBlue, that becomes even easier.

20. Las Vegas

Temperatures are incredibly high during this time of the year but you can drive a few hours to Utah National Parks like Zion and Bryce Canyon to beat the sweltering heat.
